Part 365: What is Dynamics XNUMX Sales? – How to use it in sales (turning prospects into opportunities)

Hello everyone!

This is the fourth installment of our Dynamics 365 Sales series!
In the previous article, we provided an overview of Dynamics 365 Sales.

From now on, in contrast to the general sales work flow explained in the previous article,
We will explain how to utilize Dynamics 365 Sales using an example of how to use it.

How to use Dynamics 365 Sales for sales operations

For now, I will explain the process from turning a potential customer into a deal.

①Registering potential customers

Let's say you exchange business cards with someone at an event or exhibition who you think may lead to a future project.
To store this information in the system, the data is registered as a "Lead" in Dynamics 365 Sales.

Click "Leads" from the menu on the left, then click "New" at the top of the Leads screen.

Enter the topic, name of the person in charge, etc., then click "Save and Close."
(In the example below, information about "Arcus Taro" from "Arcus Japan Co., Ltd." is being registered.)

New leads added.

② Converting potential customers into business opportunities

Let's say you continue to communicate with "Arcus Taro" who you registered in ① and successfully connect him to a project.
Based on lead information, you can create data on cases, business partners, and business contacts.

Open the lead data for "Arcus Taro" and click "Qualify" at the top of the screen.

Sales opportunity data is created based on the lead information.

At the same time, account and contact data will be created linked to the sales opportunity.

By turning it into a project, "Arcus Taro" will go from being a potential customer to being a business partner.
This means that "Arcus Japan Co., Ltd." will become a business partner.

This is how to use Dynamics 365 Sales from lead generation to deal generation.
