Let's connect Dynamics CRM with Microsoft Flow (Power Automate) - Social Media Edition, Part 1

Hello everyone. This is already my second post since the new year began.

I've been playing around with Microsoft Flow since last year, but this time I'll be focusing on social media, connecting it to Facebook and importing information posted on the timeline into Dynamics CRM.

The main use would be to post from Dynamics CRM to Facebook (we'll introduce this next time!), import comments and other user information, and turn it into customer information.

ready

First, create an entity to save the post content directly to Dynamics CRM.

Since this is a trial, everything is created in text format.

Method

Open Microsoft Flow

The design of the top screen has changed. The layout has just changed, so the usage remains the same. Click "Create a flow from scratch."

Select Facebook

Entering "facebook" in the search box will narrow down the list and make it easier to find. Select "When there is a new post on the user's timeline."

Sign in to Facebook

Click Sign In and you will be taken to a screen where you can enter your login information.

Log in to Facebook

Enter the login ID and password of the Facebook account you want to retrieve posts from.

Verify your login

A screen will appear asking whether you want to allow login from Facebook. Click "Log in as ____." ____ will be replaced with the user name of the user.

Post scope restrictions

Specify the scope of viewing permissions when posting from Microsoft Flow.

Add action

Add an action to register a post to Dynamics 365.

Choose Dynamics 365

Just like before, you can narrow down the list by entering "dynamics" in the search box to make it easier to find. Select "Create a new record" from the list.

Field Mapping

The entity fields will be displayed, so you can map the items retrieved from Facebook.

Save the created flow

Enter a flow name at the top of the screen and click "Create Flow".

Completion of registration

Once the created flow has been registered, a completion screen will be displayed.

Operation test

Post to your Facebook timeline. This time, I posted "TEST."

Check the results

If you look at the Dynamics 365 screen, you will see that the record has been created. You can see that the posted "TEST" has been entered in the status message.

Finally

If you've seen the introductory tutorial (you have, right? (lol)), I don't think you need a detailed explanation, so I haven't included any detailed explanations in the screenshots this time, but did you understand?

If you don't understand, please see Introductory Part 1 or Introductory Part 2!

Microsoft Flow makes it easy to retrieve posts from Facebook. Previously, you had to develop a program using the Facebook API, but with the introduction of Flow, it's now easier than ever to create connections between services.

Next time, I would like to try posting on Facebook as mentioned above.

During my ten-plus years of apprenticeship at a local company, I gained a wide range of experience in programming, networks, infrastructure, servers, maintenance, operations, sales, proposals, etc., and gained a broad, if not very deep, understanding of IT and work experience. Currently, I work hard every day to satisfy customers using a variety of services, primarily Dynamics CRM.
Recently, I've been struggling with the eternal question of which came first, the chicken or the egg.
I'm also slowly getting into mobile game development!
