How to get a Dynamics 365 trial version (August 2023)

Hello.
We would like to explain the changes to the method for obtaining a trial version of Dynamics 365. For accurate information, please refer to the official Microsoft website.

What is the trial version?

The trial version is an environment where you can try out the Dynamics 365 application for free for 30 days. It is mainly used as a testing environment before implementation or as a testing environment for customization.

The following license is granted for one trial version.

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan (25 licenses)

In the trial environment you will obtain in this article, you can try out the following features:

  • Dynamics 365 Customer Service Trial (Customer Service)
  • Dynamics 365 Field Service Premium Trial (Field Service Management)
  • Dynamics 365 Intelligent Order Management (order and inventory management)
  • Dynamics 365 Sales Premium trial version (Sales)
  • Power Apps (only as an extension to Dynamics 365)

Prerequisites

To obtain the trial version, you will need the following items. Please prepare them in advance.

  1. Email Address
  2. A phone number that can receive SMS

Acquisition Procedure

The process is divided into two stages, all completed in one wizard.

  1.  Get a trial Office 365 account
  2.  Creating a trial database

How to get a Dynamics 365 trial

(Note) If you use Incognito mode (Chrome) or InPrivate browsing (Microsoft Edge), the browser may not be able to use cookies, and you may be unable to proceed further.

A. Start your free trial of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Open the page.
The following screen will appear. Click on "Try it for free >" for Dynamics 365 Sales, which is circled in red.

Two.You will see the message "Enter your email address to start your free trial." If you want to get a trial account,Don't enter your email addressClick Start your free trial >.

Three.A warning will appear on the screen. Click "Click here" that appears below the warning message.

(Reference) After step 3, you may see a screen like the one below. This occurs if you already have an Office account on your PC from your company or school. In this case, please click "Create a new account".

4. Next, you will see the following screen. In this case, you will be using Office 365.Not registeredEnter your email address and click the "Next" button.
*At the time of writing this article, it is not possible to switch to the Japanese page, so we will explain using the English page.

(Reference) After step 4, you may see a screen like the one below. This appears when you enter a valid Office email address. In this case, please click "Create a new account instead".

5. Click the "Set up account" button.

6.Next, you will need to enter your information. After entering and selecting each item, press the "Next" button.
*Please enter your phone number in 10 digits, excluding the leading "XNUMX".

7. Here, for verification, select "Text me" and enter the phone number you prepared in the prerequisites. Click "Send verification code".

8. A verification code will be sent to you via SMS. Enter the received code and press the "Verify" button.

9.Set the domain name to use for the trial. If the domain is available, click "Next". If the domain is not available, a warning will appear, so set a different domain name.

10.Choose a username and password to use for your trial.
The username here isXXXXX@◆◆◆.onmicrosoft.com This is the "XXXXX" part. Check the terms and conditions, then click the "Sign up" button.

11.Your account will be created and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you entered in step 6.
After confirming that you have received the email, click "Get Started."

12. The Power Platform admin center screen will open. On the right side of the screen, the Create New Environment wizard will appear. Enter a name for the environment, set the type to "Trial (Subscription-based)", and set the region to "Japan - Default". Once you have finished configuring the settings, click Next.

13.Set up the database. If you don't have any special requirements, you can leave the language and currency as default. If you want to specify the URL of the environment, enter it. If you do not enter it, a random string will be automatically set.
In the Automatically deploy these apps section, select which apps to deploy. If you don't have any specific requirements, select "All enterprise applications" and click Save.

14. The environment you just created will be added to the list of environments. Wait a few minutes for the status to change from "PreparingInstance" to "Ready". If the status does not change, click "Refresh" at the top of the screen.

15. Check and select the environment you created, then click Open Environment.

16. Verify that the published apps are displayed and that the selected app is shown.
