This article explains how to obtain a trial version of Dynamics 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the trial version) as of August 8.
There have been minor changes to the procedures since the previous article (March 2023 edition).

The trial version allows you to try out Dynamics 365 applications free of charge for 30 days.

There are two types of trial versions: "App trial version" and "Environment trial version."
(The names are my own choice and are not official names.)

Below is a simple comparison:

The "trial version of the app" allows you to try out the app with simple steps, but does not allow you to make detailed settings.
The "Trial Environment" requires you to create an environment, but allows you to make detailed settings.

Below we will explain how to obtain each trial version.

Steps to get a trial version of Dynamics 365 apps

(reference)secretIf you use Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers, your browser may not be able to use cookies and you may not be able to proceed.

A.　Start your free trial of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Open the page.
The following screen will appear, so select [Try for free >] for the app you want to try.
Here, select the Sales trial version.

Two.You will see the message "Enter your email address to start your free trial," so enter your email address.
*If you get an error message (e.g., "Your company doesn't allow team members to sign up using their work email address"), that address cannot be used. Please follow the "Steps to obtain a trial version of the Dynamics 365 environment" explained later in the article.

3. Check the box next to "By signing up, you can use this trial version..." and click "Start free trial."

4. If a password entry screen appears, enter your password and click [Sign in].

5. The trial version start screen will be displayed, so enter your [Country/Region] and [Phone Number]. Check the boxes for receiving information as needed. Once checked, select [Send].

6.The Sales trial dashboard screen will be displayed. Sample data has been imported, so you can immediately try out the demo and operations.

Steps to get a trial version of Dynamics 365 environment

A.　Start your free trial of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Open the page.
The following screen will appear, so click on [Try it for free >] for Dynamics 365 Sales, which is circled in red.

Two.You will see the message "Enter your email address to start your free trial." Enter a temporary address (such as example@example.com) here to display the screen for the next step. Note that no emails will be sent to the address you enter.

3. Check the box next to "By signing up, you can use this trial version..." and click "Start free trial."

4. A warning will appear on the screen. If you want to continue with..., please create a new account.ConfigurationPlease do so.Configuration].

5.Next, you will see a screen like this. Here, Office 365Not registeredEnter your email address and click the [Next] button.

(Reference) 5After the above steps, you may see the following screen. This will appear if you have entered an email address that is already in use with Office 365.
In this case, click "Create a new account instead."

6.Next, you will need to enter your information. After entering and selecting each item, click the [Next] button.
*Please enter your phone number in 10 digits, excluding the leading "XNUMX".

7.Here, select [Send me a text message] for authentication, enter the phone number you prepared in the prerequisites, and click [Send verification code].

8.A verification code will be sent via SMS, so enter the code you received and click the [Confirm] button.

9.Set the domain name to use for the trial. If the domain is available, click [Next]. If the domain is unavailable, a warning will appear, so set a different domain name.

10.Choose a username and password to use for your trial.
The username here isXXXXX＠◆◆◆.onmicrosoft.com　This is the "XXXXX" part. Check the terms and conditions, etc., and click the [Next] button.

11.Your account will be created and a confirmation email with your account information will be sent to the email address you entered in step 6.[Start your Dynamics 365 Sales Premium trial]Click.

12.The Power Platform Admin Center screen will open. The New Environment Creation Wizard will appear on the right side of the screen. Enter an environment name of your choice in "Name," and unless you have special requirements, set the region to "Japan - Default" and the type to "Trial (Subscription-based)." Once you've completed the settings, click "Next."

Four. environmentUnless you have special requirements, you can leave "Language (Japanese (Japan))" and "Currency (JPY) (￥))" as the default.Click [+ Select] under "Security Groups".

14.Edit the security group. If there are no special requirements, there is no need to create or configure it, so select [None] and click [Finish].

15.For "URL", set the domain name of the environment (the "○○" part of "○○.crm7.dynamics.com"). Setting this is optional. If you do not set it, a random string will be automatically set. If you want to set it, click [here] below "URL".

15. 「Set the "Enable Dynamics 365 apps?" item to "Yes."
　　*If you do not select [Yes], you will not be able to install Dynamics 365 apps in this environment.

16.Under "Automatically deploy these apps," select which apps to deploy.
Unless you have specific requirements, select [All Enterprise Applications] and click [Save].

17.The environment you just created will be added to the list of environments. The status will beFrom "Preparing" to "Ready"If the status does not change, click [Refresh] at the top of the screen.

18.Check the created environment, select it, and click [Open].

19.Your published apps will be displayed, and you should see the app you selected. (It may take a few minutes for the app to appear.) Click the app's name to open the app screen.

You can now get a trial version of the app, making it easy to try out.
The trial version of the environment allows you to freely change the environment, so it is recommended for those who want to learn about customization and development.
